Biography
- Kenny Graham |
||
Multi-instrumentalist Kenny displayed an ear for music from a young age along with a rebellious streak that saw his removal from piano lessons early on! However, his love of singing involved him in various choirs and ensembles in Edinburgh. Rugby was to play an unlikely but significant part in Kenny’s musical career. It was following an injury preventing him travelling to Russia with his school, that his parents took pity on him and bought him his first guitar. It was later on that a more serious injury to his neck curtailed his musical ambitions leaving him without a singing voice and numbness down his left side. Whilst playing and singing was put on the back burner for quite a while, Kenny’s passion for music never diminished and thankfully all feeling and the semblance of a voice eventually returned.
A Dougie Maclean concert in Mull in 2007 was the spark that ignited his desire to perform again and since then Kenny has thrown himself back into singing and playing. In 2009 Kenny, along with friends, formed the band The Wanton Pegs and took to the stage with Margaret Bennett, ultimately accompanying her on the CD “Home to Argyll”.
At the beginning of 2010 the invitation to join Simply Burn signified Kenny’s musical rehabilitation and he now looks forward to making up for lost time. |
